Secrets for skincare and wrinkle reduction for men aged 40 and over
Taking care of your face, whether it’s using it as a moisturizer or receiving a facial, is something that men should be paying more attention to, just like exercising and keeping an active mind. If you’ve read our blog before, you’ll already know that taking care of your skin is like taking care of your health and your immune system.
With more than 15 years of experience in taking care of our customers, we often hear from men that they think facial skincare is a woman’s issue – that there isn’t enough choice of products made specifically for men, that you feel insecure buying skincare products, or that you feel like you are wasting your time. But if you take care of your health, taking care of your skin is an integral part of it. Have you ever thought about the damage the sun does to your skin while you’re exercising outdoors or biking to work?
Start taking care of your skin
- Instead of washing your face with plain water, try a cleansing facial foam or a gentle formula that moisturizes. Only wash your face with plain water if you need to give yourself a quick wake-up!
- Adding a toner will make your skin look great. Toner tightens your pores and gives your complexion a more even appearance. Look for a hydrating toner. Toners that come in a spray bottle will save you time. Use toner after cleansing your face in the morning and evening.
- In the morning, apply a moisturizer with SPF 30 sunscreen to your skin. We know you don’t like the sticky feeling, but believe us, it’ll make a huge difference to your skin, since the sun is one of the main causes of premature aging. Squeeze some on your palm and warm it for a while, then apply it evenly over your face. Spray-on sunscreen is sometimes less heavy-feeling.
- At night, apply a little bit of moisturizer after your toner because when you sleep, your skin starts to repair and restore itself. It needs food just like how we need to eat protein after exercising.
Give your skin a treat
If you never took care of your face during your teenage years, you might find you need to be more disciplined now in order to take care of it continuously.
